Welcome to Metrofique.com

April 29th, 2010

Metrofique offers a much needed blend of the simplicity and folkiness of the acoustic “coffee shop” sound with the production and arrangement of bands like Radiohead and The Beatles, providing a fresh yet familiar sound with mass appeal.

Their debut album, Swing For Fences, is completely a DIY effort recorded by the duo at Gabe’s home studio, making Metrofique as indie as they come. And it looks like they will be here to stay.

This Knocked Down

April 29th, 2010

You never hold your head up. Does it bother you to smile over this face with you now?
I’ll break this bottle, drink it down. And I don’t want to think tonight that my mistakes are around.
And you wake with the mirror in your lap, and hate what you see there looking back.
And you hope that your eyes deceive you now, and you don’t let them see you this knocked down

I want to take a part of me and pump it in to someones heart, let it flow from end to end.
I see that old has been renewed, and through the crawl you can’t hold on, but you see me crackin……crackin up.
And you wake with the mirror in your lap, and you take as you know you’re looking back.
And you hope that your eyes deceive you now, and you don’t let them see you this knocked down.

Do you lie when you say you’re fine?
Do you lie? Do you lie to me all the time?
Do you lie just to hide your eyes? All the time?

You never hold your head up, does it bother you to smile over this face with you now?
And you wake to the mirror in your……………….
And you hate what you see there looking back, and you hope that your eyes deceive you now.
And you don’t let them see you this knocked down.

Chain That Ends

April 29th, 2010

So here I am, fumbling all my words again, but I’m not going back to ways things used to be for me.
So here I go, the audience waits patiently to witness my demise.

It always seems so cold to me.
Where does this illusion end for us?
How do I die right?

I’ve seen the chain that ends a million miles from home.
We spend all our time just waiting for the end.
Another day begins, I find nobody there to hold me up or help me make amends.
I am disillusioned from this game, and how can I die right?

So here I go.
I write how I think I feel, but who can really know?
Is this life I live my own?
And here I know the audience waits patiently, and will they get my life back on track, I seem to see.

Where does this illusion end for us?
How can I die right?
I’ve seen the chain that ends a million miles from home.
We spend all our time just waiting for the end.

Another day begins, I find nobody there to hold me up or help me make amends.
I am disillusioned by this game.
How can I die right?

Goodbye Blue Skies

April 29th, 2010

Late at night, all alone, I never knew I had a light tucked away behind the safe I find.
Goodbye blue skies, seems all we’ve got is grey.
How long till sun shows it’s burning face?

Picked it up, plugged it in, and still I feel like I’m a child reaching out, clutching it.
I haven’t felt right in awhile.

Goodbye blue skies, seems all we’ve got is grey.
How long till sun shows it’s burning face?

You used to keep me sane from the demons that were in my brain.
What a light you were, and now you’re back.
You’re burning pain away.

And you help me fall to sleep.
And you bury thoughts that fester deep of my porcelain king.
You shield me while I slumber free.

My body is burning darling.
I need a lesson for you now.

Late at night, all alone, I never knew I had a light tucked away behind the safe I find.
Goodbye blue skies, seems all we’ve got is grey.
How long till sun shows it’s burning face?
